Hi,

I'm developing an application (in z/OS using COBOL) in which an incomming message on the MQ should trigger a "process".

I'm in doubt as to whether I should develop this "process" as a Batch Job (JCL calling a COBOL program) or a CICS transaction.
Another requirement is that I want to back up the incomming MQ message to a GDG, so I'm leaning towards using the batch-job option.

Is there any advantage on using the CICS option? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance
Dan
