uses, do you need to restart the message flow in order for the flow to recognize those changes? For instance, if I change the backout count of a queue from 0 to 1, do I need to restart my message flow so that it would retry mt message once? _________________ IBM Certified Specialist: MQSeries

My guess would be yes.
If fact you might even get an MQRC_OBJECT_CHANGED error if you don't.

Try it in a test environment & see.
Changing the backout count is picked up without restarting flows (on 2.1. on AIX), but lots of other things e.g. changing the base queue of a remote queue used by an Output node results in OBJECT_CHANGED errors if the flow is not restarted - as Eddie says.
