Hi All,

Lately i referred the following books

1) Programming reference for NeonFormatter
2) Programming reference for NeonRules

but i am not quite sure in what scenarios we use the NeonFormatter and NeonRules. can some one help me out in understanding Neon tools and able to work on them.

Thank you so much

The NEON product was the basis of the original IBM MQSI product, MQSI Version 1; IBM licensed it from NEON. IBM then made major changes and enhancements in MQSI, released in Version 2. However the NEON functionality had to be retained for backwards compatibility. MQSI Version 2.1 and WBI-MB Version 5 now incorporate all the functionality, notably support for tagged, delimited data, that was offered by NEON and there is therefore little point in new users using NEON functions. I believe that MQSI/WBI-MB can be purchased with or without NEON functions.

If you are a new user and haven't used the NEON function yet, I believe that TonyD is implying (and rightly so) that you can get this type of function with the base product.

If you are using NEON you need to move away from it, IBM is moving away from NEON, also the product is cheaper if you buy it minus the NEON piece
