Hi,
I am installing WMQI 2.1 on AIX5.2. As a part of pre-requisite, we should have java 1.3.0. I looked at the supplement CD but it has only the Fix pack 10 - PTF 8 for java 1.3.0 and not the base java version. As expected, the installation of fix pack complains of not having java 1.3.0.
Also, in the installation manual, they recommend us to install PTF 8a (Fix pack 11) which is not in the supplement CD.
1. Where can i download java 1.3.0? I searched through the IBM site but it was of no help.
2. Where can i find the Fix pack 11 to have java130.rte.bin 1.3.0.11 and others, or it works well with PTF 8 supplied in the supplement CD.

Hi,
For Fix Pack 11 for Java you should be able to go to :
http://service.software.ibm.com/rs6k/fixdb.html
On the page that comes up, Select AIX 4.3 as the OS Level, Change the search By box to 'APAR number or abstract' and type your search string in as 'IY26212'. This should find 'IY26212 - SDK 1.3.0 PTF 8A : CA130-20010925MQ' ... this is the Fix pack you need.
I know you are on AIX V5.2, but AIX V4.3.3 is the version that this Java fix was supplied on ... and remember it is a Java fix ... not an AIX fix. So it doesnt matter that you select AIX V4.3 in your search.

Thanks Craig.
The installation went through sucessfully excepting the NEON component. It said the pre-requisite n6nrf56.rte 5.6.0.0 not found on the installation media. Hence failed to install wmqi.compat.nnsy 2.1.0.4
Any ideas? I would need the NEON component, as i would work on NEON adapters soon.
Guys, any work-arounds?

| You need to install from the NNSY/nnsy directory on the CD. This needs to be done prior to the WMQI install! |
