We had a hard drive failure a short time ago and in the race to restore service to the box, I uninstalled MQ. However, in doing so, I must not have checked the file system under Drive:\Program Files\IBM\MQSeries\log\qmgr\active, because after I re-installed MQ V5.2.1 (and CSD04) on my Windows 2000 box, I ended up with a new directory folder called Drive:\Program Files\IBM\MQSeries\log\qmgr.002\active This is a prod box, of course!
I have one queue manager on the box (set as default), I'm using linear logging and have been running MS62 to clean up the stale logs. The older version of this Perl program doesn't allow (out of the box) for a specification of the log file path - a newer 12/2002 version has a -l parm to allow this.
Anyway, has anyone else seen this behavior (unclean uninstall leaving parts of the MQ filesystem behind) on Windows 2000 before? I don't want to mess around with the registry and risk de-stabilizing the queue manager. Also, in the registry, under configuration, the proper queue manager name is present, but under the "Queue Manager" folder I find a subfolder called Qmgr.002. Again, does this go back to an incomplete uninstall of MQ???
Going forward, I think my only choices are to try uninstalling MQ again, forcing all the file system remnants to die or to just live with what I've got and run the new verion of the MS62 Perl program, specifying the .002 path to the active log files.....
Any advice, wisdom, jeers or otherwise useful advice would be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Larry |
