The following WebSphere MQ Family SupportPacs have been released:
ED01:Â MQSeries Everyplace - GetStarted
This SupportPac aims to demonstrate some of the features of MQSeries Everyplace using a simple message-passing application (Postcard), with a simple example network of MQSeries Everyplace queue managers. It runs on Windows 2000 and other Windows platforms. Several wizards are included, which guide the user through tasks such as creation of a network of MQSeries Everyplace queue managers, and connecting that network to one or more MQSeries queue managers. The MQSeries Everyplace postcard application can exchange postcard messages with the MQSeries postcard application, as shipped within some MQSeries products, to demonstrate the inter-working of MQSeries Everyplace and MQSeries applications.
ED02: Using MQSeries Everyplace with WebSphere Everyplace Server
This SupportPac describes transaction messaging, as implemented by the
MQSeries Everyplace component of the WebSphere Everyplace Server. The
material was first published as a chapter in the IBM Redbook Enterprise Wireless Applications using IBM WebSphere Everyplace Server Service Provider and Enable Offerings (SG24-6519). It has been updated by to reflect the MQSeries Everyplace for Multiplatforms V1.26 product and the associated management tool, MQe_Explorer. Miscellaneous corrections and minor changes are also included.
ID05: WebSphere MQ Integrator - Tagged/Delimited message examples
The IBM WebSphere MQ Integrator V2 product provides a wealth of capabilities for formatting and reformatting data. This SupportPac aims to introduce the message designer to possible ways of using WebSphere MQ Integrator V2.1 to model Tagged/Delimited messages belonging to existing message standards such as SWIFT and other message standards, using the MRM message model.
IP11:Â WebSphere MQ Integrator for z/OS - Performance report
This SupportPacs provides a profile of WebSphere MQ Integrator for z/OS V2.1 performance. The report detaisl the results of a variety of throughput measurements using different aspects of the product. The report also contains a section on capacity planning and details of recommended minimum machine configurations. Finally there is a section containing performance recommendations for use when installing and configuring WebSphere MQ Integrator for z/OS V2.1.
MACS: MQSeries Client Libraries for AIX (64-bit)
This SupportPac contains the 64-bit MQSeries client libraries for use with MQSeries for AIX V5.2.
WO02: MQSeries Workflow - People administration
IBM's MQSeries Workflow (MQWF) provides a powerful tool to the challenge of managing processes. The processes normally associated with MQWF are those used to run the business. When defining the architecture it is apparent that other processes exist in and around the business process. These are internal processes to an organization, for example to manage people. Even with the introduction of LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) when staff members join a company there will be several systems, applications and security systems that require notification, updating and authorizations. This SupportPac shows how MQSeries Workflow can be used to add a new person to the MQWF database. This process can be expanded to include several database updates.
The following WebSphere MQ Family SupportPacs have been updated:
ES02: MQSeries Everyplace - MQe_Explorer
This SupportPac supplies a management tool (MQe_Explorer) for MQSeries Everyplace (MQe). It runs on Windows 2000 and other Windows platforms and can be used to manage one or more target MQe queue managers. The following changes have been made in this release:
- Additional properties supported for local queue managers
- Services folder replaced by Bridges folder
- Additional connection type and related changes
- Accessibility improvements
- Addition of a script for gateway configuration
- Support for a description property for all bridge-related objects
- Support for the message store property of queues
- Addition of a ping capability
- Withdrawal of the MQe_ExplorerX.exe option.
- Miscellaneous fixes and minor changes
- Upgraded to a Category 3 SupportPac
IC01: WebSphere MQ Integrator - Message flow versioning and command line deploy utilities
This SupportPac provides five utilities to assist with versioning and deploying message flows within WebSphere MQ Integrator V2.1. A sixth utility is also provided to assist with renaming ESQL keywords that appear in message flows as variable names. These utilities are designed to be used in conjunction with a source library system such as CMVC. he following changes have been made in this release:
- Updated to support WebSphere MQ Integrator
- Replaced mqsideletemsgflows utility with mqsiimportmsgflows.
- Added new utilities mqsiexportmsgflows, mqsideploy and mqsifindandreplace.
- Upgraded to a Category 3 SupportPac
MACR: MQSeries Client Libraries for Sun Solaris (64-bit)
This SupportPac contains the 64-bit MQSeries client libraries for use with MQSeries for Sun Solaris V5.2. A fix has been supplied for client exits
MP05: Simple MQSeries response time monitor
This SupportPac provides a performance monitor (MQSeries Response Time Monitor - SMQSRTM) for timing messages sent through MQSeries queues. The following changes have been made in this release:
- Client connections can be set up without an MQSERVER environment variable or a MQCHLTAB file
- Autosave resultlist every n measurements
- Minor user interface changes
- Some bug fixes including:
- Large responstimes (over 30s) could cause program error
- Y-Scale is now calculated correctly
- Notification mail was lacking list headers
MP76: MQSeries for Windows NT and Windows 2000 V5.2 - Performance highlights and capacity planning guidance
This SupportPac provides two reports. The first highlights the potential performance benefits introduced in MQSeries V5.2 and explains the circumstances in which they can be exploited. The second, which has been added in this release, details the performance behavior of MQSeries V5.2 using MQI thin-clients, and compares characteristics of different client-server scenarios.
