Anything an agent can query on a local server, you can also query from outside the server. |
No, this is wrong.
To be more clear, your assertion that "Other non-MQ, meaning server information, is now available via other machanisms like JMX and Web Services ... which not allowed leverages too. " is not valid in most environments. Particularly, I can't imagine anyone monitoring zSeries boxes using JMX.
This non-MQ server information MUST be made available via the network, for an agentless monitoring solution to be useful. And it must either be made available to the network through the OS on the box, or through SOME KIND of process on the machine (which *is* an agent).
Most OSes DO NOT provide this kind of thing "out of the box" in general.
Even SNMP is not necessarily enabled by default on most server platforms. And SNMP is a *lot* older than JMX or "web Services". |

Did you start evaluating any tools? I work for contact admin and would be happy to introduce you to our monitoring solution and get you in touch with our technical SE to arrange for an on site visit and or conference call. Let me know how to contact you so I can assist you.

You must interact with the MQSoftware sales staff in order to get a trial version. It requires access to their download site as well as a 30-day key. I believe the contact information for MQSoftware is on their web site. |

Contact them directly. They might even arrange for a demo on your lan.
AFAIK there is no trial version. [edit] See Shirley's post. You can get a temporary key.[/edit] However you can request a demo... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
