If your requirement is to literally to keep a channel from entering the INACTIVE state, your message every 4 minutes AND the disconnect interval (DISCINT) will likely work for you - presuming you have no problems that cause the channel to fail.
However, if your intent is to keep the channel in RUNNING state, then an application which sends a message across an MQ channel every 4 minutes will NOT guarantee this. Why?
Channel problems might occur 3:59 seconds later, causing the channel to enter one of those other channel states.
Oddly, this sounds like a test question with two parts, namely: name a scripting language that you can do MQ things; and what does INACTIVE state mean?
