Hi All,
Recently we shifted WMQServer 5.3 from one Windows 2000 box to another Windows 2000 box. The earlier server was responding wonderfull to all the clients. But the new WMQServer troubles the following.
1. Queue Manager Listener goes down suddenly at anytime.
2. The new WMQServer is not generating the FDC files.
The error log file shows continues messages as below.
----- amqccita.c : 2781 -------------------------------------------------------
11/30/2004 19:11:23
AMQ9228: The TCP/IP responder program could not be started.
EXPLANATION:
An attempt was made to start an instance of the responder program, but the
program was rejected.
ACTION:
The failure could be because either the subsystem has not been started (in this
case you should start the subsystem), or there are too many programs waiting
(in this case you should try to start the responder program later). The reason
code was 0.
----- amqrmrsa.c : 461 --------------------------------------------------------
11/30/2004 19:11:40
AMQ9208: Error on receive from host rasMP225 (61.95.217.225).
EXPLANATION:
An error occurred receiving data from rasMP225 (61.95.217.225) over TCP/IP.
This may be due to a communications failure.
ACTION:
The return code from the TCP/IP (recv) call was 10054 (X'2746'). Record these
values and tell the systems administrator.
System details.
OS : Windows 2000 With SP 4
Processor : Intel PIII 1133 MHz.
RAM : 512 MB.
WMQ : 5.3 ( No CSD applied , it comes with default CSD01)
No of Qmgr : 1
There is only client to server communications, no server to server comm.
Incase if anyone come across with this problem please do advice.
Thanks In advanced.

The listener problem might be because you are at the base level. Apply CSD07 or higher (CSD08 is the latest). I came across this problem when I was at CSD06 and without the hotfix. Applying CSD07 solved my issue.

One of the reasons for this error might be that your client gets disconnected when the listener goes down.
Install the latest CSD and check to see if that will solve your issue.
Hope this helps. |

Hi Anirud,
Well after applying the CSD07 the problem still persists. In CSD08 also listener ralated APARS are the same as CASD07 so I dont think so it will help on this problem by any chance. One more strange thing is that there is no FDC file generation. I tried generating trace files but not getting the exact error. Also figured out that when the Listener goes down it gives following error but not very sure because of what core lavel TCP/IP call.
12/01/2004 15:12:52
AMQ9219: The TCP/IP listener program could not create a new connection for the
incoming conversation.
EXPLANATION:
An attempt was made to create a new socket because an attach request was
received, but an error occurred.
ACTION:
The failure may be transitory, try again later. If the problem persists,
record the return code 10022 and tell the systems administrator. It may be
necessary to free some jobs, or restart the communications system.
If any one come across this please do advice. Also if getting help that how to generate FDC files that will also be a great help.
Thanks in advanced.

I am not sure what's the cause. When I saw that you were at the base level, that was my first guess to apply the latest CSD.
I will be misleading you if I ask you to do anything else.
Some one will definitely guide you in the right direction.
Keep checking. |

eknathv,
Although not an exact match, your problem is similar to a recent thread in this forum, maybe you've seen it. Since you're stuck, you might want to try the suggestion made by JasonE. What have you got to lose.
JasonE wrote: |
Try stopping the listener service, then starting it from the command line, in the foreground and see if it logs any messages. (runmqlsr -m QM -t tcp -p 1414) |

Hi JT,
Thanks for the reply. We had tried that option of starting the listener on command prompt but there was no luck. But these days one good thing which I noticed. After applying the CSD07 the listener was stopping for 2 days but since past 6 days its running stable. On top of that we didnot do any configuration change or any further patch applying. It sounds very strange that how it got stable too....
We hope it will continue in the same way.
Thanks to all for support.

All,
I have installed ICS 4.3 and related software on Windows 2003 server. It is a clean installation on Windows 2003 server.
The connector controllers were running. I could run the JDBC Connector agents without any problem. I am getting the following error when I try to run the connector agents. Only WebSphere MQ connector agents are not able to run.
The MQSeries2connector.log file shows:
[MsgID: 17021] [Mesg: No response from connector controller.
It is probably not running yet. Reason: MQSeries2. Retrying...] ]
[System: ConnectorAgent] [SS: MQSeries2] [Thread: Thread-3 (#678070209)] [Type: Fatal Error] [Mesg: No response from connector controller. It is probably not running yet. Reason: MQSeries2. Retrying...]
I appreciate very much, if anyone could throw some light on this.
Thank you! _________________ voyager |

Did you created the MQ queues for the connector?
you will find inside the websphereserver folder the scripts for creating
the queues for the adapter with IDL or JMS transport type _________________ Maximiliano R. A. Santos
