Hi
What are the main differences in MQSeries v.5.2 and Websphere MQ v.5.3?
Do I need to make changes in server and/or clientconnections or does the updgrade the nescessary changes?
The base code in 5.3 seems to be alot better than in 5.2 <You would hope the company would make improvments to the product as it its life increases.>
The 2 main differences that I can think of are:
1.] QSG support of z/OS
2.] SSL support.
What platform is this MQ running on? For the most part the upgrade takes care of most everything for you. I haven't had any problems yet from going from 5.2.1 to 5.3 <Windows> and 2.1 to 5.3 <z/OS>
Hi Offshore
Thanks for your reply. I am running MQ on several different platforms, z/OS (this already is up and running on 5.3), W2K and UNIX (HPUX and SOLARIS).
I suspected that the main new feature was SSL support.
Take a look in the System Admin Guides. There is a section in the first few pages called "What's New in this Release". _________________ Peter Potkay
