Hi,
when i try to open the WMQI Control Center, this is what i get :

BIP1350E: The current operation has timed out.

One or more requests have been sent to the Configuration Manager to process the current operation, but no reply has been received for the last request sent.

Either your request has queued up behind a long-running request by another user, or the Configuration Manager has stopped. Check that it is up and running then retry the operation. Because the link to the Configuration Manager is via MQSeries, it is important to note that the original operation may have fully completed, or have partly completed, even though no reply was received in the allotted time. The results of the retried operation should indicate this, and will determine subsequent actions. For example, if a check-in operation timed out then the update may have occurred, but the object may still be locked. A subsequent check-in would then fail with a locked response. The action would then be to unlock the object.

All my services are running fine. I also tried stopping the services and rebooting my machine. But i keep getting this error.
I am using WMQI 2.1 over Windows 2000

Regards

Venkat

Is your QMgr listener running? I often do get the same error and fix that by checking the following

1) Queue Manager Running
2) Listener Running
3) DB Manger running
4) config Mgr running

I am sure one of these would work in your case too?

Thanks,

Hi,
i had all the services running. The Event Viewer gave the error as "Java Class not found". So i tried adding a ClassPath Environment variable with the path

.;C:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB\java\db2java.zip;C:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB\java\db2jcc.jar;C:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB\java\sqlj.zip;C:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\IBM\SQLLIB\java\common.jar

and it worked. I do not understand why this error came up suddenly as it has been working fine all these days. Also i thought Class Path Variables are not needed in the latest releases of Java. Am i correct ?

Hi venkat,

Its not a classpath Problem. I have also seen this error coming in
my Control center window sometimes, when i did not started the ConfigManager or any of the services Like QM,Listener..is not running.

We dont need to set the Classpath, May be Your Services may not be Up
while You Opened Your Control Center window.

Try to Simulate the same situation and try again.

cheers ,
maruthi.

Hi venkat,
As Mr. Maruthi stated, you should check wether the listener is up and running. If it isn't running even after restarting , the problem may be that your listener is using a port number which might have been previously assigned to some other listener. You can check the current active ports using the command " netstat -an" at the command prompt.

I went through this same problem, hence posted it... it may not be the reason in your case.
Good luck,
Phani.
