Hi,
I am trying to delete a queue and get the above error. This happens on a fairly regular basis. The system is quite large and in the test environment people are generally connecting all over the place.
I normally get round this by stopping the QManager, which frees up the queue for me to delete.
This is quite a laborious process and also disrupts the entire system. Does anyone know of a utility which can free up individual queues without the need to bounce the entire q manager
Cheers

It won't free up the queue, but the 'display qstatus' command will tell you who has it open. You can then bounce just the one application. |

Unfortunately I'm using MQ 5.2.1. Am I right in thinking 'display qstatus' was introduced with Websphere MQ 3.0 |

Right, qstatus is on 5.3 only for distributed platforms.
Also, sometimes Put Inhibiting or Get Inhibiting a queue will knock out any applications that have the queue open. _________________ Peter Potkay
