Is there any formula by which we can determine the space requirements for mqseries.

There is no hard fast rules, but here are somethings to check

1) Persistent /non-persistent messages
Persistent reuqire log space .
2) How many messages are going to be residing on the qmgr ove X time
3) If you have planned/unplanned network outages you need to
consider the number of messages that may backup in the queue while the network is down.
