Hello,
I've installed MQSeries 5.2.1 on Win2000 and cannot start the service MQSeries. The icon in the taskbar is always red. If I try, from the control panel/services, to start MQSeries, I get following error:
'error 193: %1 is not a valid Win32 application'
Do you have any clue ?
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
No, I couldn't start MQSeries itself (right-click on the icon and 'start'). By the way, it was not possible to open the MQSeries console to access the queue manager.
I've found a solution by installing MQSeries under "D:\MQSeries" instead of "D:\My Programs\MQSeries", in order to avoid the blank space in the path.
What I don't understand is following: my 1st install of MQSeries was under "D:\My Programs\MQSeries" and it worked perfectly. Why, suddently, doesn't it work anymore ??
If you have any answer, it would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks,

On Windows as you already know that MQseries starts up as a service. At times when you reboot, it may take a little while to start up this service or for some reason it might opt not to start it.
In that case you have to look in the windows event viewer/log to see what went wrong. And if you can, manually start that service.
BTW, installing MQ on different directories does not make any difference as far as i know, rather it shouldnt.
Cheers

Hi,
Did you uninstall MQ series properly when you moved it to new directory.
You need to uninstall any previous versions before installing new ones, sometimes it leaves old registry entries and new installation doesnt work.
Check your registry entries.
You might want to reinstall if its easy to do that. make sure you do proper cleanup of directories and registry ...then reboot the system and install fresh..it should work.
Cheers
