Hi,
I need to install WMQ 7.5 and WMB 8 on AIX(not sure about version assuming the latest one). I have performed installation several times on Windows environment. But this time I will need to install on AIX. As, I'm more familiar with Windows, just trying to explore, if there is any such tool which I can run from Windows and perform installation on AIX in GUI mode.
Please suggest.

Regards

As far as I am aware there is no GUI for AIX software installation, so speak with your AIX admins as you'll have to be root to do the install. They'll be able to give you advice on how best to proceed. Some shops do not allow non-UNIX System Admins to install software - yours may be different.

AIX does have a web based admin feature (optionally installed).

However most Unix bods like to protect their jobs by not installing such modern features and prefer cryptic unix commands from the 1970's.

SMIT is a sort of compromise and gives some fullscreen control over the underlying commands.

But granting root access to someone not familar with unix would be a bad idea. They might allow you sudo rights to install the WMQ filesets.

WMB v8 and later can be installed without root access, but no GUI - to be fair it's not that hard to follow the screen prompts.
