Im not familiar with the ANSI X12 HIPAA records however the MRM-TDS physical format has an X12 messaging standard as one of its options. Im not sure if this the HIPAA X12 message standard you are referring to.
It should be noted that this does NOT give you prebuilt message sets that will parse the data you require, but when this option is selected during the creation of an MRM messageSet, then it will fill in defaults for delimiters and group indicators etc.
Whether this messaging standard option is what you require or not, looking at examples of the HIPAA X12 on the web then it should be possible to manually model this using the MRM-TDS capabilities (in either WMQI V2.1 or WBI-MB V5), since they seem to be character messages that are delimited by markup characters such as * and ~. _________________ Regards

I'm on a year+ long project to do just that.. It aint pretty - we chose not to use the internal WMQI stuff to do the X12 conversion as it requires a lot of setting up Message Sets etc.. which is pretty complex and some of the X12 trans are big (837s). We use the Data Interchange product and some home grown java stuff to do the conversion from X12 to XML.
