I am new to MQSeries. I need to tranmit data from my VB application using MQSeries to a remote system. What all am I supposed to install , only client for MQSeries or both client and server . I have downloaded a trail version of MQ Client but I dont know how to use that . Is there any IDE for MQ Client . Or should I have to run something for this . Some sample code of VB with MQ Series will be of great help. Please help !!.

Thanx in advance.

You'll need to install a server SOMEWHERE for a client to be useful. If there isn't one on the remote system, you'll need one. But you could put it at either side, or somewhere else (then both ends would connect to the third point as a client).

Have you tried looking at the Repository link at the top of this page for sample code?

If you have an MQ Server running at the remote system, then you could either have a client or a server on your system to connect to the remote system.

Since you downloaded the client version already you are all set to connect to the server. There is no IDE other than the MQExplorer to connect to the remote system, but that would not be MQ Programming of course.

So, if you wish to write an app of your own that does this, take a look at this site's repository and you would find host of different applications on various platforms. Take a clue with that and write your own.

Cheers
Kumar
