Hi All,
I am doing some testing for large messages over MQ, I know that is not recommended but we have some business requirements here, trying to test that with RFHUtil selected Segment Allowed, Yes and Message in a Group option in MQMD tab and in Main tab selected Logical Order and unticked New Msg ID, but doesn't works and says - Message is too large for queue manager QMgr max=4194304 Queue max=-10 messages added from 1 files - Any suggestion please what I am missing?
Thanks |

Looks like the max for the qmgr is still set at 4 MB. You need to up that to 100 MB and up the max msg size on the DLQ to 100 MB as well.
Also remember svrconn defaults and ways around them...
Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Apparently, the segment you are attempting to create is greater than the QMgr max=4194304. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Thanks bruce2359 and fjb_saper - I have increased the Queue Manager MAXMSGL to 30 MB but still not working - 2030 Message too large for queue (check q and qm settings) QMgr max=31971520 Queue max=-1
0 messages added from 1 files
I am putting message on a alias queue which points to a remote queue on same Queue Manager which further points to a local queue on a remote Queue Manager and message will travel across by Sender/Reveiver channel.
Also the message size is 19 MB. |

What is the size of the message (segment) you are creating? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

hi bruce2359 - I don't think I am doing anything creating the message segment size really, what I have done is using RFHUTIL, I am trying to upload this 19MB message on the Queue from a text file and I have just checked the option of Segment(Yes and Allowed) on the MQMD tab, after increasing the MAXMSGL for the Queue Manager to 30 MB |

I tried to follow this document - http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21405730 and ensured as specified in this document - "When a message is too big for a queue, and the length of the message data is greater than the maximum message length of a queue, the queue manager will break the message up into segments when the MQMF_SEGMENTATION_ALLOWED and MQPMO_LOGICAL_ORDER options are specified in the putting application for a version 2 MQMD" - still do I need to do something more for segmentation to work? |
