Hi All,
I am very new to MQ. I have my office laptop with XP - sp3.
I installed MQ in home (not in office) and ignored the network configuration and created default configuration, queue manager, queue created, but when started in office nothing worked.
So uninstalled and tried to install in again in office with office lan so it will have IP, domain etc... here also ignored network configuration. Install completed and then tried to create Queue manager, failed saying MQ server must be running.
Don't know what I have to do, is it really important to configure domain accounts for WebSphere MQ?
Any advice.
Thanks

Well now let's think. You've got WMQ running on your office laptop which as an XP machine probably belongs to a domain. You log onto it using a domain account even if that domain is your local machine & I bet in the office you don't use that local account for corporate resources.
So yes, you're not going to have a lot of luck trying to run WMQ if you ignore the domain security model and hope it goes away.
As a bare minimum you'll need to manually adjust your machine's DCOM to exempt WMQ from the domain security checks even if you have everything running as local accounts. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
