I have installed the full WMQI with NEON support. The installation verification sample that comes with WMQI is not testing any of the NEON functions. Is there anything that I can use to verify that the NEON support is properly running ? I remember way back that NEON has it's own installtion verification test. Where is it hiding now ? Can some one point me to a manual or any documentation ? |

It's not difficult to verify NEON if you know how NEON works.
Step 1, create a NEON database.
Step 2, initialize the NEON database.
Step 3, config WMQI for using NEON.
Step 4, create simple NEON formats and rules by using NEON gui.
Step 5, testing it by NEON testing tools.
You can find all relevant info in the NEON System Management Guide.
Hope it helps.

To expand on that just a bit, I would do the following:
1. Create a simple Input Format and a simple Output Format, along with a test message.
2. Use apitest (New Era Sys Mgmt Guide) to test the input format.
3. Use msgtest (New Era Sys Mgmt Guide) to test the output format.
4. Create a simple msgflow with an input node, a NEONFormatter node and an Output node.
There use to be an IVP for steps 1, 2, and 3 but they seem to have disappeared in the WMQI 2.1 stuff. I found the remnants in the following directory:
X:\WMQI_HOME_DIRECTORY\nnsy\rulfmt56\examples\NNSYRF
That a_msg1.txt looked like the old test message, but the formats.fie seems to be a bit off. Not that necessary, since steps 1 - 4 are fairly straightforward. Also, take a long hard look at whether you really need NNSY. The NNSY stuff adds another layer of skills and complexity for both developers and administrators. (Hate to say it, as I use to be a NEON guy.)
Good Luck!
