AFAIK it doesn't work. I may not know far enough.
Something more specific than "it doesn't work" may yield a clue to the problem. Doesn't work because it hangs, it crashes, windows crashes, monkeys fly out of the back asking if you've seen a witch anywhere, what? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

FYI Windows crashing is nothing to do with MO71 but is part of the normal operation.
Flying monkeys can be resolved by ringing a bell. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I don't believe that this can be done with any standard MQ client based tool (to access the SIB that is) such as MQ explorer, MO71 etc.
It would be quite useful if it could be done. You could email the author of MO71 - but I wouldn't expect any good news.
Make sure you use the latest MO71 for looking at MQ (in general). |

The Messaging Provider that comes with WAS version FIVE POINT ONE is *NOT* SIBus.
You can not use MQ tools to configure or manage SIBus. This is true.
The Messaging Provider that comes with WAS 5.1 is a modified, reduced, set of MQ code artifacts.
It's *somewhat* possible to manage/monitor it using standard MQ tools.
But you have to take a few steps to do things like create listeners to receive client connections and etc. etc. etc. because the qmgr that's created by default is not entirely full-featured.
It's much *better* to just install MQ on the same machine and use it to create a real queue manager. |

Care to explain some why you are playing with a configuration long out of support? (WAS 5.1) _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

@mqjeff, could you walk thru me with the steps?
@fjb_saper, the system i'm working on is websphere 5.1, why it is still being used is... complicated
all i can say is that I have no power of whatsoever to change it to newer version for the next few months, so MO71 will have to do :/ |

I don't remember them.
again, though, at least make sure that you have started a command server. The same command to do so for that level of MQ (v5.3, If I Recall Correctly) will function. strmqcsv? |
