yes it is not a message tree but a single value.
But we can provide such input to ASBITSTREAM function, right. |
Why do you think that?

And it is not giving any error while converting it to BLOB which means it is converting it to BLOB. |
NO.
That means it's not returning an error. It makes no claim about what internal processing has been done.

So here the issue is if both are BLOB at the end, then whats the difference in both BLOBs. |
The difference is that the two functions are different functions that take different inputs and perform different processing to produce different outputs.
I will continue to repeat this until you show that you have actually grasped it, rather than trivially acknowledging it. They are different functions because they do different things. They ARE NOT the same function THAT CAN NOT be used for the same purposes!
If they could be used for the same purposes, they would be the SAME FUNCTION.
You absolutely can not expect that you can pass an arbitrary stream of bytes to ASBITSTREAM and receive a meaningful and valid result.
ASBITSTREAM does not work on single values. It's job is to CONVERT a TREE into a stream of bytes, not to operate on a stream of bytes.
Stop disagreeing with the documentation of the function, and accept that it works the way it is documented to work. |

The apparent clarity of a response is no guarantee of enlightenment by the recipient. |
