Hi, I was trying to create a local broker. I need to enter the Queue manager, username and password.
I do not know what is the username and password for?? Can anyone explains it to me?
Also, for my java client that connects to the queue manager with the followings..
host
port
channel : SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN
destination
username
password
I used a username which is in the mqm and mqbrkrs groups. However, I realised that I can used ANY password. Is it suppose to be this way, or have I misconfigured anything??
Thanks. |

It's the user that will run the message broker process. It must be a member of mqbrkrs and mqm groups.

Yes, it is supposed to be this way. These are the username and password that are passed to a security exit, if you have configured one for the client connection. MQ itself does not authenticate users. Read more from the manuals. |
