My configuration is typical for VCS - two identical queue managers on top of fileshare VCS template. Fileshare without MQ agent failed over and back very fast. When I added MQ agent on top of VCS tree Qmgr can not start fast and failed sometimes. I need to clear the faults on this node to have it online.
Do you have any idea which patameter in MQ config or MVS MQ agent needs to be changed to bring up Qmgr faster? I can not find out what's an issue for delay. |

Well switching the file system over without WMQ will be faster than switching WMQ over because the file system doesn't have to wait for the queue manager to stop, then do the switch, then start the queue manager. More moving parts, more time.
AFAIK there's nothing in WMQ under VCS you can do to bring a queue manager up faster that you can't do normally. Which is very little & comes to I/O speed, proper log management & so forth.
If the delay is in the queue manager coming down prior to failover then check you have all the right stuff the bring the queue manager down and the script closes components in the right order, that sort of thing. It's an almost ludicrous point but make sure the queue manager's not waiting on applications to close (saw that once, couldn't believe it).
But if you can't find where the time is going, we're not going to be much help. Do some digging, see where the delay is in the process, see what's taking the time.
Also how fast are you expecting this to be? And when it doesn't work, what doesn't it work with? Could these be what are taking the time on the occassions when they do eventually work? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
