Hi
If there is a scenario - where no dead letter queue is defined and the destination queue is full ( in a distributed message queueing environment ) , what happens to the persistent / non-persistent messages ? Should the persistent message roll back as transaction could not finish and non-persistent lost ?

Thanks

If the non-persistent message is coming down a channel, then yes, it will be discarded, not lost. WMQ does not lose messages, it does with them what it is told to. If it's persistent and coming down a channel, it will be rejected back to the origin, and the channel will close.

Only if the channel speed is set to FAST. If its set to NORMAL, the non persistent message will not be discarded. The channel will stop instead, like it would for a persistent message in the same scenario.

I have almost all my channels set to NORMAL. I don't want even non persistent message just discarded, and I don't want every app making every message persistent.
