Hi All
I am still at a loss with PUB/SUB. It seems as if the subscribers get un-subscribed for some reason or another.
The following is the setup:
JBOSS/Java/JMS subscriber on one server using a server connection channel to an WMQ on a second server on different VLAN's.
There is a VLAN issue causing the 2 servers not to be able to ping each other occassionally for 2 - 4 seconds about 2 or 3 times a day (ok I know that must be sorted out but the client insists the system should recover even if there are network interruptions).
However, I have simulated the network interruptions by unplugging the network cable and plugging it in again numerous times, every time pub/sub carries on as if there was no problem.
However, occassionaly the WMQ Broker unsubscribes the subscribers and the pub/sub stops working from the application perspective. If you run the command amqspsd when all is ok, you can see the subscribers, but about once every 3 hours or so, the subscribers on that display disapear. We need to stop/start JBOSS to get it up again.
Any ideas please?
Thank you

Are the subscribers durable or non-durable? If they are non-durable and something 'happens', they would go away. |

I have tried all 4 options:
1. Non-durable with dynamic queues
2. Non-durable with fixed queues
3. Durable with dynamic queues
4. Durable with fixed queues
In all four cases the publisher stops (SYSTEM.BROKER.IQ.1.4 entries disapear and as a result amqspsd show no subscribers). _________________ ________________________________

Just as an update:
On the JBOSS server side I have 3 JBOSS' running. I have connected this server to the WMQ server with a cross-over network cable. One of the 3 has been configured using this cross-over cable. It never fails. The other 2 fail after exactly 2 hours.
They communicate via a VLAN Cisco switch/firewall where apparently all the required ports have been opened (other MQ communications go through without a problem).
I have also staggered starting the other 2 (one 40 minutes later). First the one fails then the other fails 40 minutes later.
Is there not perhaps some kind of communication at maybe UDP level or something that the WMQ expects to confirm that a subscription is being used and then after a 2 hour timeout it automatically unsubscribes the subscriptions? _________________ ________________________________

This is more likely the firewall cutting a connection that it deems to be idle more than the configured amount of time... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
