Hi,

We have 28 MQ environment set up.

We use MQ explorer to connect to view the status , browse messages, clear queues, modify queue depth.

I want to restrict access to people to do this. I dont want anybody to install MQ explorer and try to modify queues, clear messages.

I feel there must be a way to do this.

Please help me out...

thanks in advance

Configure SSL on the SVRCONN you use, to use SSLCAUTH(REQUIRED).

Don't give "anyone" a valid certificate.

Also see http://hursleyonwmq.wordpress.com/2007/02/08/using-websphere-mq-explorer-as-a-read-only-viewer/

Although note that this blog is moving.

thanks jefflowrey

The link talks about having people to connect thro' different channels.

What I would like to achieve is I want people connecting to the same channel to have only preferred access.

The environment set up for MQ here is this way, wherein we use a single channel (SVRCONN) for connecting to MQ.

Can I set up some kind of authentication on MQ explorer?

Please let me know...

Hi,

Have a look at Capitalware's MQ Authenticate User Security Exit because I believe it is a solution to your problem.
