Hi,
I have tried a search to this site but could not reach at a desired response. Would be obliged if someone kindly refer me the link.
My situation goes like this: I shall be using WMB 6.x to capture messages from a distant source which shall be connecting to my box through some protocol of very low band-width (like dial-up or Radio Frequency or the like).
What I would like to know here is any clue or reference to standards to establish the connectivity with WMB (like using MQInput, HTTPInput, etc) so that the availability can be optimised.
Expecting some suggestions from you.
Thanks in anticipation.

Accepting that, what protocol and/or format will the messages be sent in? What I mean is you can run TCP/IP over both of the technologies you mention (albeit slowly!) so in theory could use either http or MQe to transfer the messages.
What have you selected? Will this not have a greater impact on availability than the broker? Or am I missing something? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi Vitor,
The concerns that you have are my concerns too. I am looking for some suggestions and/or advice as to how such a given situation be addressed.

But then this isn't strictly a problem with MQ or broker; you're restricted by the underlying architecture. Aside from the obvious point that MQe is more reliable than HTTP I'm not sure what else can be said.
But with luck someone else will think of something! _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I have never used it myself, but you could also look into WebSphere MQ Telemetry Transport and SCADA nodes, if you are designing the system from scratch. But it really depends on the devices you are connecting... |

Broker offers a bunch of choices for transports.
You need to know more than you've told us to decide which is best.
Start with finding out what the remote end can use. Can it run a qmgr? can it run an MQClient? Can it run JMS/XMS? Does it need to use plain TCP/IP? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

SCADA was specifically designed for low bandwidth clients with low processing power. |
