Hi all,
We are trying to use “mirrorq” program by downloading from IBM site in AIX environment. My MQ is Version 6.
I copied mirrorq and mirrorq_r in both the directories(ie exits and exits64)
While we start the Queue manager we are getting the following error.
07/03/06 17:25:29 - Process(1224944.1) User(mqm) Program(amqzxma0_nd)
AMQ6175: The system could not dynamically load the shared library
'/var/mqm/exits64/mirrorq_r'. The system returned error number '8' and error
message ' 0509-022 Cannot load module /var/mqm/exits64/mirrorq_r.
0509-103
The module has an invalid magic number.'. The queue manager will continue
without this module.
EXPLANATION:
This message applies to AIX systems. The shared library
'/var/mqm/exits64/mirrorq_r' failed to load correctly due to a problem with the
library.
ACTION:
Check the file access permissions and that the file has not been corrupted.

Correct the problem with the API Exit module 'mirrorq'.

Do we need to recompile the for MQ V 6? If you have complied version for MQ V6 to copy into exits64(right now I copied the same files in both directories) , apriciate if you can send to us.

Are you asking for Professional Services? If so, I'll create a SOW (Statement Of Work).

It is an IBM MQ SupportPac (no support) written by an IBM employee. Aren't you an IBM employee.

It's not a support pack.
It's sample code.

IBM puts you at a client site without giving you access to proper tools? How come you don't use IBM's VLP and then reserve a AIX server?
Anyway, WMQ v5.3 or WMQ v6 is not the question but rather do you want a 32-bit or 64-bit executable?

If your client needs a 64 bit build of sample code, then your client needs a compiler. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I don't get it. IF you work for IBM (even as a contractor) and IBM's client (which is truly what they are IF you work for iBM) needs the 64 bit executable, then why don't you (IBM) get it from IBM (your employer).
Paperwork or not that is the correct procedure I would have thought. |

IBM doesn't have a 64 bit compiled version of mirrorq.
It's sample code!
The author never got access to a 64bit environment in which he could compile or test it.
I repeat.
There is no precompiled 64 bit copy of the mirrorq sample code.
And because it's sample code, it's clearly unsupported. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Ah I see the issue now.
Then they either they stump up for a compiler or they find a way of managing without it I guess. |

A little late on this thread, but if you are planning on putting some sample code into production, then I would think you would want (and need) to compile the program for yourself. |
