What's nowadays the best practice for getting messages from a message queue in a middle of a message flow (I know, the best practice is not to do that at all)? A while back, there was a plug-in node available on IBM's web site for this functionality, but I was unable to find it any more.

You're probably thinking of the supportpac: IA09 MQGET plug-in, which was removed from general availability some time ago. The good news is it's been resurrected in v6 as a standard node.
