AFAIK, there is no limit.
If you explain your problem more clearly somebody might give a better answer

the issue I have is as follows

I have a mainframe server running MQ talking to a Wintel server runnnig the messenging client. This config is used fo the transportation of jobs though the workflow system. I have one site of the coms working fine with a hop count of 6. The other side of the solution is stalling with a hop count of 10+. The ms response time is sub 50 however. The data is pasing through a firewall.

All systems are configured in the same manner. They are however on different domains / vlans. This should not cause an issue I believe however. Any assistance will be appriciated. If you need more infomation please give me a shout.

I still am unsure as to exactly what your problem is.

What is transportation of Jobs through the workflow system?

What is the messenging client?
