What's the purpose of each of these queues? Especially the ADMIN.QUEUE and EXECUTIONGROUP.QUEUE?
If deployment issues arise, how risky is it to clear the queues?
These are wmqsi 2.1 broker queues:
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.ADMIN.QUEUE) CURDEPTH(1)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.ADMIN.STREAM) CURDEPTH(0)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.CONTROL.QUEUE) CURDEPTH(0)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.DEFAULT.STREAM) CURDEPTH(23)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.EXECUTIONGROUP.QUEUE) CURDEPTH(3)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.EXECUTIONGROUP.REPLY)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.INTER.BROKER.COMMUNICATIONS)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.INTERBROKER.QUEUE)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.IPC.QUEUE.5662006042714022057)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.IPC.QUEUE.5672006042714015267)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.IPC.QUEUE.5712006042714033666)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.IPC.QUEUE.5752006042714023674)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.IPC.QUEUE.5772006042714032273)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.IPC.QUEUE.6272006042714023812)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.IQ.1.2) CURDEPTH(0)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.IQ.1.4) CURDEPTH(0)
QUEUE(SYSTEM.BROKER.PRIMARY.STATE) CURDEPTH(0)
Thanks all! |

It's more risky to run 2.1 than it is to clear those queues. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

My tip - don't go near them!
Especially in 2.1 (which I am condemned to still be using). The software is the expression "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" given form.
It's also the physical form of the less well known expression "if anything happens that it wasn't expecting and in total control of, you're likely to be reinstalling from scratch and praying to the Big Blue God that the most recent backup of your development was successful".
Only an opinion. Supported only by a number of mental scars. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

SYSTEM.BROKER.ADMIN.QUEUE contains deployment messages from the Config Manager to the broker.
SYSTEM.BROKER.EXECUTIONGROUP.QUEUE contains start/stop/deploy messages sent from the Admin Agent (internal component that controls the execution groups) to the execution groups.
If you clear these queues, you might find yourself having to redeploy or restart things, but should be quite harmless to clear on a stable system.
However, heed the other comments; 2.1 is going out of service in September. |
