Hi guys!

I'm trying to set up a environment that looks like this:

MQ -> MQIPT -> SOCKS -> MQ(customer)

I've successfully got it working without SSL but when I'm trying to throw in SSL to the setup I get confused. Should I just SSL-enable the MQ channels or do I have to use SSL in the MQIPT as well? Or even, should my Socks administrator enable SSL instead?
I've tried enabling SSLProxyMode in MQIPT config file but since I also enable SocksClient MQIPT complains that they conflict.

Any advice on what I should do?

(And yes, I have tried the Search button)

You should probably have something of the following setup:

MQ<--MQIPT<-- SOCKS <-- SOCKS <-- MQIPT <-- MQClient

so you get https between the 2 socks.

Enjoy

This configuration suggests the customer allows direct connections to its QM ? Maybe they have a QM in their firewall ?

The Socks support in MQIPT is very basic (V5 without userid/password), so for this configuration to work you would need SSL to be enabled outbound from your Socks proxy.

Alternatively, you could use HTTP/S instead of Socks, but then you would need another MQIPT at the customer end of the connection. This also depends on the availability of an HTTP proxy/server in your firewall (and the customer).

Another option is I get SSLProxyMode and SocksClient to work together in MQIPT - depends how urgent/important this request is ?
