Hi,
This is MQSI 2.1.
We experienced some problem for one EG in CM after we deployed it to broker. It was hard to rectify. So finally, I deleted the EG entry from the CM DB2 table CEG and recreated it with the same name and redeployed. The deployment was successful. But now there are 2 instances of that EG in the broker(I didnot see this coming). Is it possible to remove the earlier one from the broker database?. (Broker database appears to be storing the EG entries in some kind encrypted or UUID form, so i donno how to delete it)
NOTE : We can't do full broker deploy as there are large number EGs(> 300) and it is a first phase test machine so machine is minimally equipped.
Thanks for your help |

Editing the database by hand quickly becomes really contact admin and is not advisable. Best advice I can give is to scrub the broker and start again.
However, if you're not faint of heart, you'll firstly probably need to remove a reference to the first execution group in the Config Manager's CBROKER table; you will need to edit the CXMLDATA column of the broker's records for this table and hand edit the XML. This document will also tell you the UUID of the old execution group.
Search for this UUID in the broker database tables (e.g. BROKERRESOURCES and BROKERAAEG) and you'll see the entries you need to remove.
Again, this is really contact admin - and I can only suggest you try this route if you don't stand to lose anything if you screw up the broker (or any broker using this database!) And if that's the case, you may as well start again with a new broker anyway.
Alternatively, and here's the obligatory plug - move to v6 and you should find things a lot easier to maintain
EDIT: Corrected typo |
