I think the key thing here is that you need to add the message to your Control Centre workspace.
The COBOL import facility creates the messages in the message repository database, these will not auto ...

For me, Windows NT/2000 and AIX stood me in good stead for the exam - I also had some OS/390 experience but, guess what, noticed a high number of OS/400 questions!
