I can reproduce the problem with a userid 10 chars long... it looks like the longer userid aren't getting picked up and passed to oam:

what are you seeing? can you past some output and the results of "ffstsummary" in the /var/mqm/errors directory....

a) Following is the error message why try to create QM

Unable to start Queue Manager , with userid characters more than 8.


DETAILS:
OS Version : Redhat Linux Advanced Server 4.1 with 2.6.9-22.0.2.106 Kernel
MQ-Series : 5.3 with CSD 10 ...
