MQ Clients don't have to supply a QM name on the MQ connect call. The combination of hostname and port number is unique - there can only be one QM listening on that combination, so the QM name is not ... |

Basically you can set it up such that the queue manager name the application uses is as simple as *, or be a bit more creative with the name and have *HOST1, *HOST2 etc., and they'll all still be conn ... |
