| It may be worth checking the AntiVirus and Backup schedules for the server. If MQ tries to write to the disk when an AV scan is in progress then MQ barfs! |

The queue manager nneds to be stopped whilst you perform the operation.
/ld = log directory

I am assuming you are talking about MQ on Windows NT or 2000.
I wouldn't use Domain Controllers in NT unless you particularly need to. You can choose this option at Installation time.
