I guess lsstatus lists only MQ defined ports(runmqlsr). Is there anyway we can check TCP ports as well using this command?

Since the message is coming from Z/OS, you need to convert the message from EBCDIC to ASCII. Does your sender channel from Z/OS has convert option set ?

What is the format(mcd.fmt) of the message set to?. You may need to set that to XML and not the mcd.msd; which will make it a generic XML, unless you want it to.
