googling "Veritas agent for Mq" you can find pdf how to install&configure HA VCS for Websphere MQ agent

is there any way to view /var/mqm/log/<qmgr>/active/ log file on the running qmgr?

could you help to find a source code just in case?

the output of trace has to be filtered otherwise your traced process can fill a disk space quickly.
If you started trace in hours of high traffic, CPU usage would be raising more that 50%.
