hmmm I found a work-around, I used the "setup.exe -console" command and installed it that way. Now I just have to hope that I will never experience that strange problem again.

nope no errors in the Event log.

Yeah it might be the java installer, we are looking into that right now, we have tried to disable all the services and anti virus software, without any luck so far ...
