When trying to connect our Sun/Solaris client to our NT server, (actually when trying to do a GET) we get an 'invalid authority' error - 2035 or 85 I believe.

When we do the GET from the solaris box, we see the SVRCONN channel start up on the NT server, but the client is unable to retreive the messages.

Any ideas?

Greg,
2035 is MQRC_NOT_AUTHORIZED, meaning that
1) your client connection channel on NT has the MCAUSER attribute set to blank and
2) a) your Unix Id is either not defined on your Windows NT box (most likely) or
b) your Unix Id is defined, but has no permission to GET from the queue (assuming that your MQCONN works.

You can either
a) set MCAUSER('mqm') on your client conn channel definition, implying that EVERYBODY can use the MQ resources on your NT box because this is the MQ admin id, or
b) define your Unix Id on the NT box with the proper permissions by using the setmqauth command.

You might want to check the AMQERR01.LOG file on your NT server first to see if the MQCONN fails or the MQOPEN. The MQGET can't be the problem because all authority checking for a queue is done during MQOPEN.

Hope that helps,
Stefan
