Dears

Some time ago, I used to work on mq in linux...and usually, we used multi-instances MQ a lot - so on the same server we had a file system for each environment test,test1,test2...etc and we used to create separate dirs for data and logs - for example /test/data for config and /test/logs for logs

Now, I am only working in windows... while doing custom installation - I see the wizard is forcing me to choose a data folder ... but the log folder should be under the data folder...for example D:\MQDEV\Data and D:\MQDEV\Data\log

is there any reason for this ?

Thanks
Heba

The wizard is only choosing the default data and log directories, you can still use crtmqm with -ld

But why would you want/need to not accept the defaults? What benefit do you see? Yes, we used to move things about to manage disk space and contention; but that's old technology - what with SSDs.
