I'm working on setting up a multi Instance MQ setup in order to achieve a HA MQ for an application with multiple API's connecting to the qmgrs.
Qmgr A is active on node 1 and Qmgr B is active on node 2 and the respective standby's on each other nodes.

Also I want to connect these 2 qmgrs with an external Qmgr C through a cluster in order for the an external application use the external Qmgr C to send msgs to the queue on A and B qmgrs.

Can I club both these concepts of Multi Instance and Clustering together.

Multi Instance Queue Managers can be in an MQ cluster.

Putting an "external" queue manager in your cluster is probably not a good idea, depending on what you exactly mean by "external".

"external" means another qmgr built on another OS (Z/OS). mine is on LINUX.

is it OK to build an MQ cluster around a multi instance qmgrs.

Yes, certainly.
