Hello,
The MQ filessystems hosting the RDQM ( these are of type /dev/drbd100 which get mounted onto /var/mqm/vols/<rdqm_name> ) are created on the fly when the RDQM is created and get moved to the drbd node which is currently hosting the RDQM Primary. In a healthy state, none of these entries are in /etc/fstab.

However, when one or more of the drbd nodes are distressed ( e.g. RDQM in the node is in trouble due to a kmod upgrade with drbd kmod left behind at previous version), the entry is added to /etc/fstab ( I recollect this maybe one scenario it happened - but not entirely sure). When the entry gets added to /etc/fstab, if the server is rebooted subsequently, the server is stuck as /dev/drbd100 FS is not a physical FS. The remediation is to remove the entry from /etc/fstab and reboot after which the node and RDQM come up.

Has anyone faced this issue of RDQM Filesystems being added to /etc/fstab and server not booting up subsequently?

Thanks

Hello - this is resolved.
We have a pre-patching script which compares the current filesystems in use on a given server, to the entries in /etc/fstab and adds the ones missing.

cheers
