I am running IIB V10.0.0. 9 on AIX. I attached a workload management policy to add 9 additional instances to a message flow. I can see the IPPROCS of the MQINPUT Q increased from 1 to 10 shortly after I attached the policy. Just for testing, I detached the policy at night when there is not much work. But the IPPROCS of the Q remain at 9 this morning. The flow was deployed with no additional instance. I expect the IPPROCS to go down to 1 even with messages on the Q. Is my expectation right ? Will the flow start to give up additional threads as soon as the detach policy command is accepted even with messages on the Q or it will wait until the Q is empty ?
