Hello All,

I have been experiencing IIB applications failures due to SSL error when external applications (SalesForce/Coupa/Eloqua/Third party payment application etc..)change their certificates, such as changing from Symantec to DigiCert or expiry or etc..

It's not always we are informed about the change. We end up fixing the issue after the SSL failure.

Even though we track each cert expiry, I have noticed few application implements the change ahead of time without notice.

Have you come across these sort of failure? How did you overcome?

Introduced a clause in the vendor contract where such outages counted against their availability and thus placed them in peril of not meeting the 99.99% up time stipulated in said contract.

Breaching that costs them money and focuses their minds.

There really is no technical solution. IIB failing when it gets a certificate it doesn't trust is both functioning as designed and a behavior you wouldn't want to change.

hi...must admit I haven't tried this but is it not possible to just add the root/intermediate CA certificates to IIB's truststore and getting it to accept any certificates signed by those CAs?

The OP talks about changing CA.

Also there's no guarantee that a given CA wouldn't use a different intermediate certificate (with different cypher specs or encryption) to sign a replacement cert.
