Hi All,

We have a multi instance queue manager set up with NFS server. We are looking at moving to a RedHat Gluster (in a different data center) based storage for the Queue managers.

We have ran all the MQ file system verification programs against the Gluster file storage and they have passed.

We moved all the QM configurations to the new storage and ran few already existing file transfers scenarios in MQ MFT with md5 cheksum enabled (about 3000 files).

The file transfers are successful but strangely, the files have got corrupted (additional null values, new rows, few missing rows in the files). Strangely, the files show the same size.

The source/target teams are confirming the checksums are not matching before and after the transfer. However, MQ MFT doesnt complain.

We dont see this issue with the old storage (NFS server) or a single instance queue manager without the NFS server, or the MQ server within the new data center which hosts the Gluster storage.

We have opened a PMR. Could it be possible for this corruption to come from MQ MFT/new Storage ?

It is not possible. If the MFT transfer completes successfully, you can be assured that the contents of the source file at the time the transfer occurred will match the contents of the destination file. MFT uses MD5 checksums.

It is possible that some other application has modified the source files or destination files just before or after the transfer. I have see this happen many times.
