I am unable to understand exact usage of container server.

As per the document "It holds subset of cache data".

Does this mean it actually holds cached data? And globally cached data is only held by Integration servers hosting container servers?

But i could see memory utilization raising as the services are being executed in Integration server that doesn't host container server. This has been verified by enabling /disabling caching.

I am totally confused regrading what exactly does container server do.

yes and yes. As per the default cache policy all data will at least be duplicated once, for eg:- if you only have two container servers and the same cache data will exist on both servers. I think the figures at below infocenter link explains how it works,

well, i guess the mem usage difference might be to do with what the flow is doing with the data once it is retrieved from the cache
