Refer to the following IBM URL, in this scenario, MQIPT act as a SOCKS proxy.

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSFKSJ_9.0.0/com.ibm.mq.ipt.doc/ipt4061_.htm

The diagram shows connection flow from the IBM MQ client (called client1.company1.com on port 1415) through MQIPT to the IBM MQ server (called server1.company2.com on port 1414).

On IBM MQ client, enter the following commands to set the MQSERVER environment variable:
SET MQSERVER=MQIPT.CONN.CHANNEL/tcp/10.20.5.6(1414)

10.20.5.6 is IP address of MQ Server, and 1414 is listening port of MQ server.

On MQIPT, below is the configuration of mqipt.conf.

[route]
ListenerPort=1080
Destination=server1.company2.com
DestinationPort=1414
SocksServer=true

My question is how MQ client route connection to MQ server through MQIPT using TCP 1080.
How MQ client know the existence of MQIPT?

The MQSERVER environment variable is defined to use TCP Port 1414, not TCP Port 1080.

How to route MQ message to listener port 1080 via MQIPT?
